A RECORD OF FAITH

Micah 6:8:        What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

My faith in God is central to my very being.

I do not wear my beliefs around on my sleeve. However, I quietly meditate daily in my heart upon my spiritual awareness and try to live out what I believe is God’s will in my personal and professional life.

After a long journey to discover my calling in life, I have come to believe I am called to a ministry of justice and caring for those afflicted with suffering. God has given me the gifts and talents to be a good lawyer, but most importantly a heart for what I do. That is why I am blessed to advocate for my clients who have suffered injury and loss at the hand of another.

Isaiah 1:17:       Learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.

God’s word calls all of us to be personally accountable and responsible for our actions.  Those who negligently or recklessly injure others should be held accountable for their wrong.  I fight for those whose have been innocently hurt.

This is what I do. Nothing is more honorable than standing up for another person who has been hurt and needs recompense and to know justice.  Nothing is more noble than caring for those who have suffered.

Psalms 119:105:           Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

My calling became clear to me when after law school I went to seminary.  In 1991, I received a Masters of Divinity Degree from Fuller Theology Seminary in Pasadena, California.  Fuller is a world-renowned institution.  Many leading evangelical scholars are resident professors.  The influence of those great minds helped me see the important virtue of living a life that reflects the value of Christ’s social gospel of caring for others.

Psalms 127:3:               Sons are indeed a heritage from the Lord …a reward.

I have worked hard to be a reputable attorney, but my greatest accomplishments have come from being the father of Jonathan and Justin, my two sons.  The joy they bring to my life is beyond description.  I am so thankful that I placed being a dad at the top of my priority list.  Justin is a sophomore at Auburn University Montgomery where he is SGA Treasurer. and Jonathan is married. Him and his wife, Roberta, have one son, Benjamin. Truly, sons are reward from God.
