WHAT TO DO IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT:

1)               Take a deep breath and awareness of your condition.

2)               Fully attend to any medical needs that you may have.  Get a medical exam! Some injuries may not appear until days or weeks after the accident.

3)               If you are ok, then check on any passengers and the folks in the other vehicle.

4)               Call 911.

5)               Be careful about what you say. Err on the side of caution.

6)               Cooperate with the investigating officer. Let them do their job. Always be honest. But realize things are not always the way they seem.

7)               Get the other driver’s information if possible.

8)               Avoid making any rush decisions to settle your claim with the insurance adjuster or to hire an attorney, until all of your immediate medical treatment has been completed.

9)               If the injuries require hospitalization, call us (334-215-1011) when appropriate. We man our phones 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year! An accident investigation is best done early in the process, before the scene is washed away by a rain.

(If attorneys are contacting you and you do not know them or have never hired him/her, then they are violating the rules of ethics and the law).
